On February 12th Carbondale community high school was filled with smiles and energy as students began to come in for their yearly school club picture day. This event took place at the school’s gym from 8:25am to 3pm in the afternoon. From the school’s science club to Black history club the energy was filled with positivity and excitement. The students were excited for their 2026 yearbook picture; this ensured them that their club legacy would be captured for others to see and remember.
This year students were required to come in with their school passes to show that they are eligible to be here. Each club also had a certain time to be at the gym for their club picture day. This method allowed them to keep track of what clubs already took their yearly pictures, as well as knowing what clubs still needed to take theirs.
“I joined science club because I just enjoy the whole aspect of science affecting the world and also nature and just the whole cycle of how the world works. Said Eldrica green.
Whether it was the student council club or the environmental club everyone came together today with a story to tell. Each club member today showed us how much importance and dedication it takes to be there for a club and their classmates. Their importance and dedication was enough to encourage more students to join and pursue what they enjoy the most, as well as the teachers who showed up after school for students who enjoyed their subject.
“What environmental club is, is protecting nature doing cleanups um honestly its really fun and you get free
food so..” said kyrina Solbrig.
This yearly event shows us how club picture day can bring us all together as a school. As students look back at their 2026 yearbooks they’ll look back at pictures with friends, cousins and teachers. Club picture day will remain as a highlighted day for those who were there, a moment frozen in time from their accomplishments, dedication and hard work as well as their everyday High school experience of class of 2026.
