As the time approaches for the band’s fall concert members are putting in the work needed to prepare to make this 2025 concert their best one yet. The concert will take place on November 18th from 6-8pm in the auditorium here at school, this will feature CCHS jazz band, choir, percussion, and competitive band. These hard working students have attended early bird practices to long afternoons after school and they will be prepared to give a great performance.
“It’s the first concert of the year, it should give a good first impression.” Senior Elena Reyes said.
To see their progress, students have recorded their performance which helps them see what they need to improve on and how far they’ve come. The directors of the band and choir believe that while these activities are helpful, the real motivation is the students’ drive to be better. They believe this group has shown their ability to learn new pieces and materials that will be needed to make their first concert the best one.
“The transition to concert season is a challenge, but these kids practice for themselves and for their own progress.” Band director, Katrina Wood said.

The main challenge found in preparing for this concert has been the separation of different classes. Different levels of band, including choir practice at different times of the day makes it more difficult for the groups to all rehearse together. Still they believe it’ll all come together concert night and be a great kick off to the season.
With this concert it’s not only hoped that students will be able to show off their dedication and hard work put into working with these instruments, but prepare the band as they begin their ongoing season of concerts, this should be a great way to kick off the year transitioning from marching season!
“It’s the first big concert of the year, it really shows everyone together and gives them the opportunity to show what they’ve been working on” said Katrina Wood.
The CCHS band’s fall concert will for sure be a great first show to kick off a good view for our school’s fine arts program.
