Soccer prepares for conference championship

The Carbondale terrier boys’ soccer team faced off against Mt Vernon on October 2nd for the conference championship. Going into the game they were undefeated in conference, and they beat Mt Vernon 7-0. Coach Hansen said to prepare for the game they went back over notes and he wanted to rotate guys a little more because they previously had a hard-fought battle against Salum which the terriers also won 3-2 

They stand a chance they won their last two games they beat Massac and they beat Marion they’re feeling good we can win if we play well” as they play warmup scrimmages against each other and #30 is someone to look out for

Before the big game, both teams had a warmup scrimmage that showcased some impressive talent. Levi wearing #5, stood out with great ball control, showing he’s a key player to watch. On the JV side, Manny (#30) scored a crucial goal, proving his amazing off ball iq and marking him as someone to keep an eye on 

Mt. Vernon took the lead with a goal, pushing the score 2-1 over Carbondale as Dylan Howard put it, they were “kind of running into the game,” but still managed to keep things accurate and sharp.

Cliff, confident in the strength of the team said” Its Mt. Vernon, we don’t need prep” He believes they are the better team and they don’t have to look out for anyone as he said the opposing team “doesn’t stand a chance.

On the other hand, mogo emphasized mental preparation acknowledging Mt. Vernon’s skill but insisting their team is better After a tough win against Notre Dame, they’re coming in focused, treating this as a serious conference game. Mogo stressed the need for selfless play and teamwork saying, “everyone’s a key player.” They’re aware that the win against Norte Dame was just the start – bigger challenges lie ahead.
