Fine Arts Night is an amazing event that is held towards the end of April on the 29th here at CCHS. Our very own Choir Director Katrina Wood and our Band Director Greg Townsend help to make Fine Arts Night a night you won’t forget. The event exhibits the magnificent artwork from former students here at Carbondale Community High School. Fine Arts Night is a night of exploring music, as well as wonder through the eyes of every individual student and their instructors.
During this event you can see the expression of each student throughout their work and photographs. Our very own art and photography teacher Levi Biedermann adds his splash of creativity through the students he teaches and their artwork and pictures. While viewing Fine Arts Night you can also hear the passion in the choir students’ voices and the sound of their instruments.
The performances at Fine Arts Night normally provide booming music from our very own Jazz and Percussion bands, our amazing harmonies from our vocalist choirs including: Brass, Clarinet, Mixed, Flute and so much more. Fine Arts Night isn’t just a night to remember, it’s a night to show off the amazing things the students here at CCHS can do and offer.
Katrina wood the choir director here at CCHS says, “ It’s really a chance for the entire department to get to do something together and just show off our students and all of thee accomplishments and hard work that they’ve put in all year,”
Wood says “Last year was really interesting we kind of changed the scope of it all and Mr. Biederman made this fun video to promote it and we got all the different classes involved, and so the band was playing in part of it and it kinda was just really fun there was kind of a lot energy leading up to it,” Wood displays inspiring words as she says one last thing about what Fine Arts Night is all about.
Wood says, “ All of these kids..are just that they’re kids. You guys are all highschoolers and the level of performance and the quality of the art work is so impressive and it’s just like if you guys are doing it there are other people out there who haven’t even tried it and like you have the potential to be doing this as well and I just feel like it is very inspiring to like see the young people of this generation making beautiful art and creating beautiful music and just putting that out in the world,”
