Preparations are underway for the anticipated play Mamma Mia. The cast and crew are working hard for the production of Mamma Mia. The exciting uplifting play is based on the songs from the 1968 album of a Swedish pop group called ABBA. The play will come to life April 11th, 12th, and 13th, 2025. Tickets will be available at the entrance, the play will take place in the auditorium.
Behind the scenes, Teams are in the process of preparing the Greek island setting for the musical. Costumes are being created to match the show’s signature vibrant and lively styles, while the stage is being altered to capture the story’s sunny and colorful mood. Anticipate a variety of vibrant colors, flashy attire, and references to the 1970s. Since the rehearsal period began, the performers have been working hard to nail their scenes.
The lead actors have been zeroing in on key emotional moments, while the ensemble has been putting in hours to nail the show’s kinetic dances. The little things that make the play come to life are being given much thought in addition to the design and rehearsal processes. To fit the story’s atmosphere, props including restaurant tables and wedding decorations are being collected and set up. As well as the timing of scene changes and music cues are being practiced to ensure a seamless transition between scenes.
While interviewing a lead Angeline Narag I mentioned which song was her favorite she said, “Slipping through my fingers because lead Josie Miller sings it really well and it’s bittersweet because we are seniors about to graduate”. Next I asked what her role was and if it resembled her any. Her response was, “I’m Tonya and I don’t think I relate to her but it’s fun stepping out of my comfort zone to become her”. Finally I asked what was the most challenging part of preparing her role she said. “Probably learning the music and dancing at the same time.
And with only weeks until opening night, excitement is brewing. This group has been working tirelessly day and night, hoping for perfect end product that will blow away viewers with joy, humor, and unforgettable ABBA music
