CCHS held a blood-drive on Thursday, March 6th. most of the day was spent observing the ins and outs of the blood-drive.
The Blood-drive is sponsored by Red-Cross and overall ran by yearbook head and Student Activities director, Brandi Jones
All of the nurses on staff gave every student such wonderful care and watched out to make sure they were all very taken care of. A teacher and Coach, Butler, was the supporting coordinator of the event. It is assumed that he holds this position of the event every year out of the kindness of his own heart. He is always the very last to give blood. Sadly, he had a negative review regarding his experience. Butler recounted that the nurse (anonymous) taking care of him did not know where to take the blood from. He felt very uncomfortable, especially, after the nurse pulled an IV out of his arm the wrong way leading blood to spatter upward.
“No..no, they try their best and what more can you ask for” said butler in class the next week after talking about his experience in his class. He was still very kind and gave much grace towards them.
There are some bad reviews I can put into this piece, but I would rather to look at the negative, I’d rather appreciate on the good. Also to keep in mind, any bad mistakes that may have been made were made by humans on humans who make human mistakes.
“We all have extensive training but it’s all different to fit us so we can help everyone” said the lovely nurse giving me a workup.
This blood-drive not only teaches the staff and students to give back, but to care for others and give others grace. There are so many people who work behind the scenes of the blood-drive to make sure everything and everyone is running smoothly.
