On February 11th, Improv Club held auditions. This club is a great option for students who have a passion for making others laugh and want to be around others who share that same passion. While sitting in on their meeting, captain, Simone Prozesky, had auditions along with her co-captain Isabel. Besides the captains, Connor and josh both hold important roles being stage directors for the club. The club first started out by creating a circle on the stage to get everyone warmed up. The previous club members and leaders introduced themselves to the new possible members. Each person who was auditioning then came on stage one by one and did a scene with either Josh or Connor. Of course, with an improv scene you don’t know what you’re going to have to act out or what kind of humor you’re going to have to work with. Despite how challenging this can be, each person went up with confidence and left the audience with tons of laughter.4 After everyone was done, Simone, Isabel, and her sponsor had a long discussion of who would make the team and who would not. Results of who made the Improv club weren’t posted the same day. While they were having their meeting, Connor and club member Justin Judd shared words about how they came to be in the club and their further appreciation for Improv.
“I joined this club not knowing how much I’d love it down the line. Everyone should join even if they have the smallest love for making people laugh. Laughter is, kind of in most cases, the best medicine” 4-year Improv Club member and stage director, Connor said.
Justin Judd, club member, interjects “Yeah, I mean I didn’t really think I’d be in Improv this long but school sucks and laughing helps.”
