CCHS celebrated their senior basketball players, cheerleaders and dancers after the basketball game. On Monday, Feb 24, 2025, CCHS celebrated their senior basketball players, cheerleaders and dancers after the win against the Salem Wildcats with a winning score of 24-43 advancing to the next round of the IHSA Playoffs. The boys this season took on a record of 11-18 .
As each senior walked to the middle of the court, they got to share their activities, favorite memories and after high school plans. Lone senior Coryion Keene on the basketball team along with cheerleaders Lauren Futrell and Angel Love, and dance team members Audrey Brumley, Neveah Wright, and Chanea Nelson
“You know it’s bittersweet when you think about it being my last time playing here with my team but I’m happy to have made it this far and it’s only up from here,” said senior Coryion Keene.
He has been playing with the Terrier Basketball team since he was a freshman with his friends on the court with him, and will end his high school career on the court alone with his friends and family cheering him on in the stands. Keene has gotten offers from colleges but at the moment he hasn’t declared a school.
“It’s so sad when you think about it all coming to an end but I’m very happy that I made it this far and excited to move onto the next level.” said senior cheerleader Lauren Futrell.
She has cheered for CCHS all for years of high school and has committed to cheer at SIU in the fall. All of our senior athletes have spent hours, time, and dedication to their crafts all four years of high school
The basketball team will face off against Mount Vernon on Wednesday, February 26,2025 for the second round of the IHSA playoffs.
