Christianity has been around for centuries. However, many other religions, such as Buddhism and Islam, have been around for a very long time as well. While picking a religion to follow may be difficult for someone who has recently come out of something like atheism, there are many ways to make that journey easier. Although no religion is ever easy, the load can be made a little lighter.
Kingston Richard, a senior at Marion High School, tells what life as a Christian is like and gives advice to new Christians.
“Life as a Christian is amazing. There’s always new opportunities. It’s a little isolating, but that’s we got God.
“Stay prayed up, stay holy, stay strong and firm in what you believe and what Christ has in store for you, and just don’t care about what others have to say about you.” Richard said.
Aaron Porter, an Executive Pastor at Purpose House Church and a CCHS graduate, tells what he does at Purpose House Church and gives advice to new Christians.
“So, as an Executive Pastor, my wife and I help with prayer, and we do Christian counseling here at the church, and a little bit of everything. I actually preach a little bit, and so forth.
“Advice I would give is to find a Biblical-based church that believes in the whole Bible, not just part of the Bible, the whole Bible. I feel like that’s important. Also, get around like-minded Christians, like-minded people, [that are] going in the same direction to help you.” Porter said.
