As the year ends, the holidays arrive, and Christmas is one of the most popular. Families gather, share meals, and prepare for the festivities. It takes time to get everything ready as Mrs. Stanley says. “I guess the best thing for me is my youngest son is going to be coming home from the army. So he’ll get to spend Christmas. So getting things ready for our family and getting food prepared and snacks and all the Christmas cookies and fudge and everything ready.”
Christmas traditions evolve but remain meaningful and good memories as Mrs. Stanley explains. “When the kids were little, Christmas day, we always woke up and all three of our children we stayed at home and unwrapped all the presents with us. And then we would always go to my parents for lunch and my in-laws them for supper so that the kids always got to see both sets of Grandparents on Christmas day.”
Christmas is not just for one day. The Christmas spirit builds early with decorations, movies, and songs everywhere. Even Mrs. Stanley’s classroom got a festive makeover. “I have to give credit to Olivia Gurmann for doing the decorations in my room. My room was a little, a little Bah humbug I guess for Christmas. So Olivia came in and decorated, put the tree up for me and brought in ribbon and things for the backboard. So my room looks a lot more festive now.”
Christmas is more than just a holiday; it’s a season that brings people together and reminds everyone to cherish the moments that matter.
