After school every wednesday the First Methodist church holds a free dinner and bible study for the youth of carbondale. All youth ranging from 13-18 show up together for a nutritious meal and learn about religion. The Methodist church provides rides for those who don’t have rides to the group. They often have volunteering events for the community.
“It’s a lot of fun, like a lot of fun. It’s not too serious and you get to learn about Jesus. We typically have an order where we eat first and then we go up and do a 15 minute bible study and come down and play. Sometimes we do activities in the room where we do our bible study and sometimes we come back to where we ate. Literally just come. They offer rides for free typically not your first time but they can if you are willing to come more.”
