This month, students in fine and performing art classes prepare for the upcoming fall Fine Arts Night which will take place on November 19th. With less than a week, teachers help the students practice and set up their displays for the big night. Performing arts classes such as band, jazz band, and choir practice their pieces in practice rooms and together as classes with the teachers guiding them through to make the best quality for the audience.
Ms. Wood, CCHS choir teacher, says, “I’m just so excited with how much beautiful music we’re about to accomplish this year with the group of students that we have; we have a lot of new voices, a lot of young singers who are making just a beautiful sound and it’s creating a really really lovely choral sound that I’m super excited about.”
Photography students are working on printing and framing their fully edited photos to showcase at the event. Sculpture and art students work on putting their finishing touches on their projects.
Performing clubs such as the Kpop dance team and Terriers Live! are also practicing their routines to perform for the audience during the show. Improv’s latest meeting was last Thursday, and Kpop has been meeting on Tuesdays and Thursdays from after school till 4:30.
Hope Magee, member from the K-Pop Dance Team, says, “What motivates me to keep going and not give up during this dance is just the fact that I’ll be performing it in front of people, and I want them to feel the excitement that I feel when I watch them dancing, because this is my favorite group we’re covering, and I don’t want it to be boring and then like people you know are like ‘Oh this is forgettable.’ I want them to remember it and really feel it.”
