The Carbondale powderpuff has been a tradition in the high school for many many years. At the powderpuff the girls play football and the boys are the cheerleaders. Except this year the seniors are having a problem of a lack of players.

This year at powderpuff the seniors have such few players that there are less players than cheerleaders. Talan said “I really don’t think the number of players matter because we have quality over quantity and we are still gonna put belt to butt and destroy the Juniors” Talan confidently said that there is no way they are not going to win.

Even though they had such a short on players the seniors still practiced hard multiple days a week so that they could have a chance at defeating the huge senior team. At their practices the seniors worked very hard to fine tune there running game because that is what they were gonna rely on to get the dub. The seniors had many trick plays to fool their opponents and give them the upper hand. They didn’t want to give the juniors a chance to switch players because the seniors couldn’t make many switches because they didn’t have enough players.

On game day both teams came out with high energy. Even the cheerleaders were excited to come out and show off their moves in tutus and blue cat ears to show their senior pride.

As the game started everyone was feeling the nerves of the much anticipated powderpuff game. The audience was ready with a pretty good turn out and the cheerleaders were already so hyped making human pyramids on the side line. The players lined up on the field to choose who gets the ball and that was the start to a great night.

Even though they didn’t have many players the team still was able to figure out how to come together and win 7-6

over the juniors. When asked how Marin thinks she performed she kept it short and sweet with a simple “I think the results speak for themselves.” The seniors have gone 2-0 in their powderpuff career and stay undefeated in powderpuff. 

Even though they beat the Juniors both years the seniors still struggle against the teachers. Last year the seniors lost to the teachers in a heart breaking defeat. This year the seniors wanted to prove themselves so much and beat the teachers but they just didn’t have it in them and got destroyed by the teachers.
