  1. Go dress shopping! The number one thing you need to do to get ready for the homecoming dance is to pick out your dress (or suit). Shopping is made the most fun when you get some opinions, so bring your friends to tag along.
  2. Pick out your clothes for spirit week. Spirit week is one of the best parts of homecoming because you get to have some fun during the school week and dress up to some cool themes. This year, we have Pajama Day on Monday, Jersey Day on Tuesday, Class Distinction Day on Wednesday, Neon Paradise Day on Thursday, and Class Color Day on Friday. For Class Distinction Day, the freshmen dress up like nerds, the sophomores like twins, the juniors with clashed clothing, and the seniors with togas. Make sure that you get involved because spirit week is a blast!
  3. Make sure that you buy your tickets. Although homecoming may seem a while away, it comes up faster than you think. This week, Student Council is selling tickets for the dance next weekend. Tickets are not sold at the door, so make sure that you get them as soon as possible. Also, make sure that all of your dues are paid, or you won’t be allowed to buy tickets and attend the dance.
  4. Organize plans with your friends.Make sure that you make your plans ahead of time. Things can get chaotic if you’re trying to plan things at the last minute, while still handling school (which still exists during homecoming week). Don’t let homecoming pass you by before you know it.
  5. Get hyped! On Friday of homecoming week, the school holds a pep rally. It is very exciting, with lots of games to participate in, as well as performances by the cheerleaders and band. This rally is a great end to an already amazing week.
