FCA, which stands for Fellowship of Christian Athletes, has been a tradition at Carbondale Community High School for many years. Up until this year, the club wasn’t meeting on school grounds; however, this year, FCA was given permission to begin on-campus meetings by Mr. Thomas. Members were thrilled as this is a great opportunity to open up the club to more students and gives members more opportunities to lead.
FCA still has the off-campus option, which is every Thursday at 6:30 AM at Mary Lou’s in Carbondale, where all attendees receive a free order of biscuits and gravy. They also read scripture and have discussions about the topics they studied. The new on-campus option is Tuesdays during both A and B lunch hours, in which students can eat their lunch and enjoy a time of fellowship spent with one another. Senior FCA student leader spoke on what this means for FCA.
