Pagliai’s VS. Quatro’s

In Carbondale, there are two Pizza restaurants that practically everyone knows: Pagliai’s and Quatro’s. They’re two pretty popular restaurants when it comes to pizza in Carbondale, and people still argue about which one is better. This is all about preference of course, because this is a battle of the taste buds and atmosphere when it comes to restaurants.

Both of these restaurants have their own specialties in what they do best and what makes that food and atmosphere unique to them so I’ll make sure to hit the highlights of each restaurant.

Quatro’s: This place is perfect for those who love a thick crust where you get to really bite into the pizza. It’s vegetarian and vegan friendly when it comes to food options, well-known for good service, and their specialty is the deep dish pizza.

As far as atmosphere goes, it’s kind of a small space if put in direct comparison with Pagliai’s, but there’s still plenty of space for people to sit, and the lighting is somewhat dim but it’s not completely dark. The price for the pizza is not too shabby either, if you want pizza for a good price, Quatro’s is the place. Check out their menu here.

Pagliai’s: This place is perfect for those who like their specialty crunchy thin crust; they also make thick chewy crust pizza as well. Little kids can get dough to play with which is nice for families, and it also has good service. The atmosphere is much more classy in comparison to Quatro’s as the building is bigger and the place is always well-lit even in the night-time. The price for the pizza, however, is more than Quatro’s, so if you don’t mind the extra cost for quality pizza then that’s just fine. Check out their menu here.

Everyone should try to eat pizza from both places in order to see what you might prefer. Again, it all comes down to preference and what you like to eat, so what you enjoy will sometimes not match up with others. Personally, I prefer Quatro’s pizza over Pagliai’s, but I encourage everyone to try the food from both pizzerias and form their own opinion in this well-known Carbondale debate.
