Vaccines are available all year round in Terrier Care. Terrier care is located at 1301 E. Walnut ST, room J120 at Carbondale Community High School. Their hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. You can make an appointment by contacting (618)-956-9690, or talking with your class counselor. They offer vaccines for uninsured and underinsured students, as well as students that have commercial insurance.
Terrier Care carries all mandated vaccines, and several elective vaccines such as Hepatitis A, HPV, Influenza and Gardasil, along with others. They do not carry the Covid vaccine, but that is available at the Health department and SIH.
Felicia Kimbrough, a certified nurse working in Terrier Care, is familiar with making sure students are up-to-date with their vaccines. When asked about how important it is for students to have them, she replied, “I think it is very important. Science has shown us that vaccines help eradicate diseases and keep people healthy.”
