Carbondale High School Cracking Down On Security

Carbondale+High+School+Cracking+Down+On+Security

Carbondale Community High School has added more security features in the building, now  locking every door, adding metal detectors, and adding vape detectors. These were applied to make the school a more safe and better place to learn. With these features being applied, the school has taken a big step into changes that are happening at a lot of schools.

Carbondale Community High School enforces every student to walk through the metal detector to ensure that no weapon is brought into the school and keep the school safe. While also locking every door to make sure no one can enter without going through the designated spot for entering the building, and adding vape detectors to make sure no smoking is happening in the school making the school a healthy space for students.

Even though these school features are here to protect the students and everybody in the building, some would still say it’s hard to adjust to. When talking to a student from our school, senior Boston Robbins, When asked about the school features he said “It’s very inconvenient for people and even makes me late sometimes”. I continued to question Boston and he told me these features don’t make him feel more safe

With these new school features there will be a lot of new things to expect, and a lot of adjusting. While some are still getting used to it and others have adapted to it already. While others love it and some hate it, we can only imagine the best from these changes that are made to keep the school and everyone in it safe.
