The Carbondale community dog park is now open for spring and summer operations. The park is located on the 2000th block of West Sunset drive between Parish Park and the LIFE Community center. The park features a large dog and small dog pen, shaded pavilion, 3 gated entrances, dog waste receptacles and more to come. The park is open 24/7 as well, with most everyone welcome. 

Riley is a local dog owner, and had this to say about the advent of a dog park opening up in Carbondale:

“The next closest (dog park) was like Carterville, so I don’t know, I think I saw the sign for it somewhere, and eventually moved down the street and found it.”

The Carbondale community dog park is no doubt sure to grow in popularity as the weather warms and as the water features reach functionality.

I for one will be watching with anticipation.
