The Black History Club spent long hours and many weekends preparing for the show. The event was originally canceled and rescheduled due to weather conditions on February 23.

When asked about the process of putting together this show  Sponsor, Mr. Matt Wilson, responded “Stressful. I enjoyed everyone’s collaborative efforts in making the show possible. Everyone utilized their strength to the best of their ability in making the show magical.”

The show opened with a short skit titled “Who Are You” performed by Mr. Matt Wilson and Cherish Sawyer. The audience witnessed an African inspired dance/ Fashion show put on by some of the participants. Music was brought to them by Mrs. Kameilah Amaya-Allen, Mr. Matt Wilson and Madyson Swope. There was also poetry by Taylor Chick, and educational videos.

Showcasing African American Culture is of great importance. It’s not everyday that most people have the opportunity to learn the history. CCHS hopes to continue the involvement of The Black History Club in showcasing and celebrating the ever growing community in the following years to come.
