SAT Testing

SAT Testing

SAT testing for the class of 2022, was taking place on April 13th, 2021, in the school gym and even in some classrooms. Even though most colleges and universities are not requiring SAT or ACT scores, high school students are still required by the state to take the SAT test. Some members of the class of 2021 are also testing today, along with the juniors, if they missed the two test dates later last year.

The test is split into two dates in order for everyone to be socially distant. The other test date for the SAT is on April 27th, 2021. If again, members of the class of 2021 did not get to test on one of the three testing dates, they’ll get a last chance to test at the school on the 27th of April.

When asking some students what they did to prepare for the test, Caleb Bondzi, a member of the class of 2022- who’s taking the test on the 27th of April- said, “I used practice questions from Khan Academy Magoosh. [I also] watched videos on different test strategies”. He also mentioned that because of his resources that he used it helped him improve in different areas and showed him useful strategies. Bondzi feels confident that he’ll do well on this test.

Cameron Carter, who’s also a member of the class of 2022, took the test on Tuesday, April 13th, 2021, said that the test itself isn’t all that bad. He mentioned that he was not really worried about the test and just wanted to complete this school requirement. Carter also mentioned that he did find the math portion of the test to be a lot more challenging than the other sections. However, the reading portion was fairly easy and simple for him.

Here you have two completely different students who used different strategies for the test. Cameron Carter didn’t let the test worry him that much and just kind of went with it, while Caleb Bondzi is constantly studying and taking practice tests for the SAT in order to get a decent score on it
