Bobby Shmurda shall be Released
February 24, 2020
Ackquille Jean Pollard, more commonly known as Bobby Shmurda, was at one point on top of the rap game. In 2014 he produced one of his most popular songs which was listed as number 6 on Billboard top 100. A lot of people suspect that his fame and fortune come from his drive to succeed.
Bobby Shmurda was born in Miami, Florida and as a teenager found himself living in Brooklyn, NYC. Here he was raised in a situation that taught him the importance of grinding for himself as well as the importance of needing family. Although he was an upcoming musician at this time, he was still affiliated with a lot of gang violence and gang activity.
His decisions to live a gang lifestyle is what ultimately got him in trouble. In 2014 he was sentenced to seven years of prison on multiple gun charges and conspiracy to commit murder. He was also punished for his affiliation with “GS9”, a gang in New York City.
Although his gang affiliation is frowned upon, most people overlook this because of the quality of his music. Even though Bobby more than likely made his hit song for a “harder” culture, it’s not uncommon to be heard at house parties of all backgrounds. This analysis is based on his explicit lyrics of that gang violence and that are typically only socially acceptable if an African American sings them.
Even with Bobby’s lyrics being explicit to most people, this doesn’t stop people from singing them because of the energy that is produced during his music air time. James Balts a senior at CCHS stated, “Bobby’s music hit in a different way, he could make a guy like me, an average joe, wanna get up and body someone. Bobby was a spokesman for our young men in america…of all races…Bobby’s being will be greeted with love and excitement when he’s released”. Another senior of the name Jacob Collie claimed that “he got locked up in his prime” and that he is “excited to see what he can do when he gets out.”
Bobby Shmurda is going to be released in the near future and lots of people are excited for his return. He is expected to get back in the studio to continue making banger songs.
