Hardest Classes in CCHS

Justin Kamps

Our most recent trip around the sun has afforded us very interesting moments, some monumental peaks and very constraining depths, 2019 was certainly a year to be remembered. In regards to this, I wanna cover some of the hardest classes taken in CCHS during 2019, and I’m going to cover the hardest ones from my experience. With further ado, let’s go!

3. AP Spanish 4

Without a doubt, my only AP class in high school has been one to remember. I consistently have a B+ in the class, but it’s something you have to work for, but with the amazing teacher I have and my willingness to work hard, I’ve been able to succeed in this class.

2. Intro to Statistics/MAT120-CD

A little bit more of an obscure pick, this class has been perhaps the second hardest math class I’ve taken in my CCHS tenure. The class is all online, has a unique grading system and style, and I seem to have this paradox where when I think I will do well I fail horribly versus when I think I did terrible I do amazing. It’s a roller coaster, and I enjoy it, even if it’s not for everyone.

1. Algebra II with Mr. Gary Rodvelt

By and large, this was the most interesting and difficult class ever to be taken in these halls. Mr. Rodvelt retired after the 2018-2019 year, and still sometimes I hear the echos of his strictness and stories of Sammy the Cat and the Illusive Moose. Moreover, his handwritten notes, coupled with his strictness as well as Algebra being an awkward subject, I certainly didn’t do the best, but it is an experience I will remember for the rest of my life.

That being said, this has been Justin Kamps with Terrier News, and I encourage you to tell me your classroom horror stories in the comments below, and good luck in 2020!
