Who doesn’t love a snow day? Most of us can think back to when we were little and remember waiting and watching the news to see if there was no school. Snow days were always fun times, and everyone usually enjoys them. Here are five reasons I think snow days are a must. 

1. Snow days for seniors – The best time to have a snow day in school is when you’re a senior. Most of the time if you have so many school days you have to make them up, however if you’re a senior and your graduation date is already set you don’t have to make them up. You basically get a free day to do whatever you would like and enjoy it however you feel you should. 
2. Rest – Snow days were always the best days to sleep in on. They gave you a chance to sleep in late or even sleep all day. Either way snow days provide a day where students get a little break in the middle of the week. It was always so relaxing to chill on a snow day and drink a cup of hot chocolate. 
3. Safety – Snow days are a must because most of the time there being called cause the roads are slick. Buses on ice are very dangerous not only for the students on the bus but also for other drivers on their way to work or home. Inexperienced student drivers shouldn’t be driving on icy roads either, especially kids who live further away from the school whose roads don’t get cleared often creating more danger. 
4. Homework – Snow days provided a lot of kids an extra day to do homework or even catch up on things. Kids get to put off their homework until that night and get the whole day to enjoy. Sow days also give great opportunities to study for a quiz or test. Overall, they just provide a good work day we all could use. 
5. Have Fun – Lastly snow days provide a great day to have some fun. It’s a day where kids can free their mind from school. They gave you a chance to do whatever you liked like playing games, watching a movie, anything. It’s just a great time you could spend with family or just use as a fun free day.
