How To Apply Edge Control

Jazmen Betancourt

1. Figure out how you want to do your edges.
2. Get out any extra hair you want to add or take away.  This could be thickness or a more natural look.
3. Get what you’ll need (edge control can be a lose gel or thick or like gorilla snot but I prefer an eco styling gel or gorilla snot because it holds my hair for a while, depending on hair type.) Then of course the main tool…..a toothbrush or if you have an edge brush that’ll work too and a comb depending on how your styling it.
4. Brush out the hair you’re going to use so that it’s smooth and manageable.
5. Apply gel or water or whatever to the hair.
6. Brush all hair down (towards eyebrows).
7. Use a comb to “part” the edge. You want it to be sharp and neat or get brush and swoop in the direction you want to go. For example, over towards hair line but swoop up before reaching it.
8. Brush over after “parting “ to make sure the hair lay smoothly and looks clean.
9. Add another layer or product…. maybe an opposite to what used first to make sure they stay.
10. Put a scarf over edges (preferably a silk one) if you have enough time. Leave for 5 minutes to whenever but no longer than an hour. It’ll leave edges looking old unless you got the good stuff.
11. Take scarf off and slayyyy!!
