NFL Halfway Awards and Predictions
The NFL regular season is at the halfway point and the Jets are still bad, but here are my predictions for the rest of the season.
Most Valuable Player
Patrick Mahomes: Kansas City Chiefs
Pat Mahomes has been unstoppable and he is showing no signs of slowing down. The kid has already thrown for over 2500 yards and 26 touchdowns. If he continues at this pace he will finish just behind Peyton Manning’s “unbeatable” touchdown record. It’s difficult to put anybody even close to this guy, looks like a generational type of player. And being able to throw a ball 100 yards is pretty cool too.

Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year
Todd Gurley: Los Angeles Rams
Gurley has been running through defenses like a train without brakes. He’s blowing the other backs out of the water in terms of touchdowns. Also, Gurley has immensely helped the Rams get off to an 8-0 start. Adam Thielen of the Minnesota Vikings has been a close second so far after reaching 100 yards in every game so far which is a ridiculous feat only done by Calvin “Megatron” Johnson.

Khalil Mack: Chicago Bears
This one is for you, Dunn. When healthy, Mack has been an absolute game changer. He has transformed the Bears defense into a force that scare many NFL offenses. The only reason Mack shouldn’t win this award is the fact that he has had injury issues this year. When Mack is on the football field, he looks like the best player in the league.

Super Bowl LIII
Patriots v. Rams
As a Jets fans I hate to see the Patriots in yet another Super Bowl but they look like the same old Pats and the only team in their way is the chiefs. With the Chiefs young roster and extremely young quarterback in Pat Mahomes, they aren’t exactly made for the big stage. Belichick and Brady will most likely dominate the AFC again. The Rams are the best team in football and they are loaded at every position. Nobody will stop this team and many Missouri and Southern Illinois locals will be sad when the Rams finally go big time after moving back to Los Angeles.
