Trump visits Southern IL

Carter Voss, Editor

Promoting the re-election of Representative Mike Bost, President Trump visited the Southern Illinois airport this past Saturday to stir up votes for the republican party. During his visit thousands of supporters from across southern Illinois gathered to not only the president speak but also Mr. Bost, and other representatives. Trump was one of the few presidents to visit Carbondale, before him Bill Clinton was the last president during his term in 2000. During his speech trump called representative Bost a “warrior” his his impressive efforts in Washington DC.

Many students took time out of their busy Saturdays to take part in this historic event.

We hope to see more political members visit southern illinois in the years come, but this once in a lifetime event will definitely be an important memory for those who attended and the community as a whole.
