4 Upcoming Movies to Look Out For in 2018/2019

Miles Chandler

As many know, there are lots of movies that are always coming out. To some, this may be rather inconsequential, wanting to wait and watch these movies when they come out on Netflix 5 years prior to release. While this would be my normal routine for TV shows, movies are in a completely different tree. This is a list of four movies that you need to see (ranging from a week to over a year) in theaters.

1.  HALLOWEEN (2018): There is not a movie that I could be more excited for in this day and age. Halloween is a classic horror thriller about Michael Myers, a psychopath that kills babysitters. This movie is a revival of the series, returning to its roots. The film looks to be a game changer, after seeing the tragedy that is the sequel to the originals, this seems to be what is known as the TRUE sequel, with Michael returning to his hometown to take out the one babysitter who got away. They brought back the original actor (Jamie Lee Curtis) to play the role of Laurie Strode.

This movie is looking to be a real hit, and I can say that if you , like me, are a fan of horror movies, this is a must see in theaters on opening night (October 19th).

2.  Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: Crimes of Grindelwald (2018): I understand not being a fan of Harry Potter, it is definitely one of the most horrendously popular series ever to exist, and while I have to say that personally, I love them, the community itself has in a way brought my viewing of the series as a whole down significantly. However, despite this, I have high hopes for this movie.

Being overseen by the writer of Harry Potter herself, I can see this outcome being quite spectacular, especially considering how well the first one did. I don’t think that this will be a movie to go down as one of the greats, but I do think that it could be a fun non-memorable watch. While this wouldn’t be a must see, I do think that it should be considered if you are a fan of fantasy and the Harry Potter genre as a whole. This movie comes to theaters on November 16th, 2018.

3.  Holmes and Watson: A comedic take on an old classic. There isn’t much to say about this one. This is a long standing comedic duo returning to their roots in what I think will be one of the best comedies of the year. Holmes and Watson, played by Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly has a ton of potential. If you have ever seen stepbrothers then you’ll know just the level of comedic genius that these two can put on a big screen. If you want to see a good comedy, featuring two of comedies greatest stars, go watch Holmes and Watson on December 25th, 2018.

4. Avengers 4: What else is there to say? Of course everyone on the planet needs to see this movie. Was Infinity War overrated? Yes, obviously, but that doesn’t mean it was not one of the greatest movies of 2018, and with the heart tugging ending of Infinity War, what could you be more hyped for then the new Avengers movie? Robert Downey Junior will portray iron man and seeing the emotional struggle that he will have to go through to get all the Avengers back is something I am more than excited for. If you want a good, action packed emotional ride (that includes Iron Man, the obvious best Avenger) then you will need to see this on May 3rd. 2019.
