If you’re a fan of war movies, Lone Survivor is a modern combat overseas in Afghanistan. Lone Survivor was written and directed by Peter Berg, who has also directed and acted in many movies. Lone Survivor was one of his biggest movies bringing in almost 98 million in the box office. The four navy seals we follow are placed by Ben Foster as Matt Axelson, Mark Wahlberg as Marcus Luttrell, Emile Hirsch as Danny Dietz, Taylor Kitsch as Mike Murphy. These four seals are these brothers set on sticking together through the tough. They chose a great group of actors to play the tight-knit seal team.

The story is of these four seals going through some of the roughest terrain in the world in some of the most dangers. They were spying on the near village when they are catch a group of goats hearders, after releasing the goat farmers they alert the Taliban. Soon after they are spotted, and gun fire begins, lots of blood is shed and with every shot fired, you became more attached to this group of brothers. A writer for the Bowling Green Daily News Michael Compton agrees “It’s hard to watch at times, but you can’t deny the emotional impact – especially as some of these soldiers begin to realize they aren’t going to make it out of this situation” (Compton).  The group of seals soon become over ran all getting shot a number of times eventually three die from gun shots. Marcus is left to find his way to the village where his is smuggled in a home and kept safe. Soon he sends a note to the air base near for help they find the village to evacuate Marcus to safety.

I really enjoy this movie every time I watch it. I am a huge fan of war movies especially modern war, stuff that is happening in the world. Lone survivor can be a little gory but what do you expect from a brutal war story? It was directed great and the actors chose for the seal group was a great group of actors. Rotten Tomato, a website they give a movie a rotten of 3.5 stars and For the audience, according to Rotten Tomato 87% of people rates this as 3.5 or higher. The critics is rated on positive reviews, 76% of the critics gave Lone Survivor a positive review. This is low to me it’s hard to find an issue in the filming of this movie.
