By: Regina DeDecker

According to the Urban Dictionary, a teachers pet is an annoying student who kisses up to the teacher and does a bunch of favors for the teacher in hopes of getting a good grade.

Step 1- Ask if they have an errands for you everyday.

  • Everyday during my junior year of high school Kamel asked Mr. Dollins if he had any mail that he wanted Kamel to get.

Step 2- On holidays ( Christmas , Birthdays, Valentine’s Day, etc.) buy them gifts.

  • Mrs.Wheeler’s birthday is in March and every year I get her a present, it might be a candy bar or even a visor.

Step 3- Ask questions and be productive.

  • In every class I’ve ever attended I’ve asked questions and ask for clarification if I wasn’t sure of directions.

Step 4 – Gain their trust.

  • To gain a teachers trust you have to maintain good behavior in their classroom. Also, when they ask you to do something you do it right and without question.

Step 5- Maintain a good grade.

  • To maintain a good grade you turn in all of your homework on time and go in before or after school for help if needed.

Step 6- Ask questions and be productive.

  • Always stay alert and active in their classroom. When the teacher ask for a volunteer you are always the first to raise your hand.
