How to Make Good Grades

High school can be a difficult and confusing time for many students and teenagers. With hormones changing and trying to get in where you fit in, life can seem a little dissatisfying. These mixed emotions can take a toll on your work ethic and motivation; and thus, your grades.

So lets get started. We all enjoy having free time, even if the time we have isn’t free. This is where time management comes into play. Say you just got home from school and you’ve been waiting to play the game all day, but you have homework… dang. If you typically have trouble managing to get your homework done on time, find something that you would like to do (such as play the game), and reward yourself by playing after you’ve finished your work.

Time management and discipline are the two major keys  for getting your work done on time. Without the discipline to create and commit to your goals it will be nearly impossible for time management to have its intended effect.

Another technique is to complete the work you can before you get home. For example, if you have homework in your first hour, and you find yourself having free time in your fifth hour, utilize that time to complete your other class’ work. Finishing your work while you’re still at school can help reduce the stress of having to finish it later, while also creating recreational time that otherwise wouldn’t be there.

Although it seems as if just about everything feels more interesting than your homework, the feeling of relief and accomplishment are far better than the dread and anticipation of a low grade.
